Ipod 6th generation issue
I have a little issue on the ipod classic 6th generation when connected to the 6FL USB Hub. There is a fully menu with playlists and all, but the ipod is not charged and is frozen when it is disconnected from the USB Adapter and will not shut down when the car is locked.
Anybody the same experience or maybe a solution ?? So long Christian |
I have no problems with mine. It should charge with no problem, might want to try another ipod, or another cable if you can. Take it back and swap it out.

Based on other posts (and BMW's listing of approved devices) BMW software does not yet support Generation 6 iPods. You may want to check with your dealer to confirm current support status. Apple tweaks their software with every new generation and issues periodic updates via iTunes for prior generation iPod devices. If you have a setup that works you may wish to decline those updates until it is confirmed they will work the BMW software.

There are a few other running threads on this... BMW is working on a SW update to fix, as of yet the 6th gen must be unplugged when done with and recharged elswhere. I have confirmed this prob with multiple 6th gens. The more people who report this to the dealers, the faster we can get a fix. By the way, if you have a gen 5 or lower, they work fine.

I see, it would seem my 6th gen ipod is the exception. I've had no problems with my ipod touch charging from a dead state to full charge in my 2008 X5 si. Perhaps the problem is with the 6th gen ipod classics.

Thanks for your input.
The ipod touch and iphone seem to be fine using a different software (gen. 7 ??). We will see whats going on. Took a phone call to the customer support of both, BMW and Apple. Both are aware of the problem and will sort that out... time is the question know. Enjoy your Rides... So long and best regards Christian |
