My X5 was built early!!

Hello All,

I logged on BMW Owner's circle for the first time today to see when my vehicle might go into production (Performance Delivery Date is January 11th, 2008) and I was surprised to see that it has already been built!

The order status lists it as being at the Preperation Center. I guess it just sits there in storage for over a month until I pick it up from the factory!

Christmas came early this year...well kind of....not really....but you get the gist ;)

not bad!!! i should have done the PD option...

see if you can move up the pickup date!!

have fun and don't forget to take pics!!!

Can't pick up earlier as I am traveling for about a month and the pick up date was my request. However I will definitely take lots of pictures of the full performance delivery experience and driving and post them here for others.

I was worried they would be building it during Xmas and that too much egg nog would cause build problems ;)

actually i get more nervous when it's too ahead of schedule...(makes me think they rushed the job and took shortcuts..)

mine took exactly one month from order to pickup!!

enjoy your ride home!! be safe

I would not worry about them being built earlier... My guess is that demand is less than anticipated, so there are empty production slots (the demand is less due to not-so-favorable stock market/subprime stuff, and the santa will skip lots of folks on the wall street this year!)

Same here .... :iagree:, although I am not dealing with stock market directly, so the ride is less turbulent ;)
