Napa vs. Nevada Leather
Hello All,
Going into purchase my first BMW (X5) next week. Can someone tell me the difference between Napa and Nevada Leather seating. And if you have a prefference? Also any ideas the best way to get the 20" rims on the 3.0. Is this a dealer option? I didn't think these rims could be added at dealer. Thanks |
Napa = 10x softer and smoother leather than the nevada. However, it gets scratched easily. I've had napa on 3 cars now and would get it at every opportunity unless you plan to put big dogs in your car.

If you want ventilated front seats Nevada is the only option. I would have gone Nappa if not for my desire for ventilated seats. :(
|
napa is very soft but is damaged easily, nevada is still nice, and more durable.

I like Nevada just fine... As for 20" in Chicagoland, you better get yourself a winter set, too !
|
Nappa leather is finer grain and feels much better. Try it in an //M car and you'll know the difference. I believe the old E46 M3 had nappa leather available (the standard option was nappa/alcantara).

Where in Chicago are you blackshirts? Dealer?

Northern Burbs. Considering Knauz BMW
|
I'm in northern burbs too. I had a mildly good buying experience at Knauz. Service there is not great at all, IMO. They don't do walk ins, and are always busy and slow. Buying at Fields is a joke, but great service at convenient location. They are skilled, quick, and drop a loaner at my house and take mine in for service. I do walk-ins all the time. (they are also under construction now, making it bigger). I had the best buying experience at Patrick BMW in Schaumburg. Good luck! See you around!

Knauz is semi-ok for sales, but the service is beyond horrid (in terms of competence).
Patrick and Motorwerks are both excellent dealers in every way. Good luck! |
