Blind spot
 

Has anyone noticed a blind spot when viewing through driver side mirror?
I have noticed this when driving in slow traffic
Is it probably the mirrors are not convexed or my sitting position/hieght, because I have to lean forward to see somebody at about 7 o'clock spot.
I'm thinking of adding one of those small convex mirrorsat the lower corner of the side mirror.

i'd adjust the mirror or the seat so that I can see any blind spots. Also I shoulder check every time.

There's usually a blind spot - it just depends on your seating position where exactly it is. You can get an addon mini-mirror or you can get a wider rear mirror that gives you an excellent view on both sides. Of course if you have the premium package with the compass, then you've negated that feature... too bad cause I have gotten used to wide rear-view mirrors - they come in very handy. Anyway, you should always do a quick glance just before regardless.

a commonly taught technique in upper levels of HPDE. first time i heard it i was skeptical until i tried it.

it really should be taught in high school drivers ed.

I have programmed this on one of the memory buttons - this is for driving. On the other button I programmed a "std" adjustment - where you see the sides of the car and use this when I backup from my long and narrow driveway using my mirrors. Works great.

I tried this for a few days. But I've re-adjusted my driver-side back the way it was because with it facing outward like that, all the mirror scenery that goes by is too distracting out of the corner of your eye while driving. Yes, it's a big difference. It helps on the passenger side though. If you can stand it on the driver's side, more power to you.

BTW, is there any way to stop the passenger side mirror from panning down everytime I reverse? I don't need it backing out of my driveway and it's just unnecessary strain on the motor going up and down like that 4 times a day. Manual shows a button (next to fold mirrors button) but I don't understand what it means by "switching to the other mirror or to the auto-curb monitor." What is that really saying about the switch and can it be disabled?

Switch the button over to the other side (as the default setting) and it will not pan down. (Page 52! :) )

Move the slide switch to the driver side mirror, and then the passenger side mirror will not pan down while in reverse.
