i can't seem to find any rear seat cup holders. i do 'not' have the 3rd row seat, so have the regular 'bench' seat in the 2nd row.... and no cup holders. i even folded down the arm rest, but none there.

am i missing something?

brian5 12-21-2007 06:51 PM

marc

i have the 3rd row but your 2nd row should be the same. pull down the center arm-rest. please the button. Voilà, two cup holders...

Kasyd 12-21-2007 06:51 PM

your close !! they are there,,,,;)

marcx5 12-21-2007 06:54 PM

lol.... i know i am going to feel stupid at the end of all this.... but when i pulled down center armrest... the only button was on the plastic piece which remain vertical against the back seat. if you push that... it makes that piece come out... so you can see into the truck (for ski's).

there was no button on the armrest.... just regular material...hmmm....

although, i did do this at night in the dark... so i will have to take another look.

:)

No, not the button on the plastic piece that stays between the seats. The button on the armrest that you pull down....

SANguru 12-21-2007 07:12 PM

button on top of the headrest

 Not in my E70. It's one third of the way down from the top of the headrest.

lol, um maybe take a pic.

Yep, there are cup holders for the back seaters (not talking about the 3rd row seats)...

Just have to find a button and flip something forward. Your getting close. ;)

I was referring to the cup holder itself.

OK, this is a long thread about nothing...

On my 2008 E70 with 3rd row seat, it is NOT on the headrest!!

Here's the proof:

I'm thinking ol' Marcx is not entirely enthused or, convinced
about his new E70, based on his panic posts, thus far. ;)

ha. panic posts? hardly. i love the car. have no regrets about it at all.

i do have some concerns... and i like to talk about those concerns here and there. but overall i love it.

i don't feel the need to come on here and talk about all the things that are great... which i'd happily do.... but these forums are much more useful for finding out info, solving problems, and sharing concerns so that future cars can be even better. happy holidays. :)

My 2008 is the same. Actually think it's a bit of an improvement as a design as the armrest is more at the right height. Looks like you have the skibag option like I do...I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

rh71 12-22-2007 11:47 AM

heh ok now I'm confused... how come one person's middle section folds completely and another only folds down from 3/4 of the way (not the headrest)? Is that because of the 1) ski bag option or the 2) 3rd row seats causing the 2nd row seats to be different?

I remember reading that the 2nd row split folds (60/40?) but Brian's pic leads me to think otherwise and the first set of pics leads me to think all 3 sections fold down individually.

Yes, seems like different options out there. Mine is two fold (60/40) sections (plus the smaller arm rest).

I have 3rd row and ski bag options. Maybe those two result in a certain configuration.

marcx5 12-22-2007 12:00 PM

if you have 3rd row seat... the second row is different from normal. personally, i like the way the second row is when you "don't" have 3rd row seat... it's more even and 'bench' like....

you, of course, can prefer what the 2nd row seat looks like if you don't have 3rd row. I have no idea what you mean by it's more 'bench' like though. My 2nd row seat could not look more benchlike... ;)

go look at the other 'version'.... the second row seat is a bit different if you don't have the 3rd row. in this case, the front part of the second row seat is even across the front, as opposed to indented a bit. anyhow, just look. this thread is way too long for the topic.... lol

+ 1,000,000!!!!! I hate (yes hate) how the second row looks with third row.....its not right....:)

StumpyPete 12-23-2007 10:59 AM

The indent on the second row is so as the centre seat has sufficient knee room when you slide it forward to use 3rd row seats. Not a particularly elegant solution but understandable.
