BMW X5 E70 2008. USB interface

Hi.
I have just received my e70 3.0D. It is the 2008 euro version. Almost 0.7 litres less fuel consumption in average.

I have a CD preinstalation but not a cd charger. Do you know if I can install a USB interface in the glove box using the CD preinstallation?

There's one in the accessory brochure. It costs about £350.

I thought the USB option was factory install only.

Maybe you are correct. I can't remember the connector type on the accessory one, perhaps it's an iPod-dock connector.
