Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Protection package

Hello Everyone,

This is my first posting. I am a proud owner of 2008 BMW x5 3.0. When I went to take the vehilcle delivery, finance person sold me the below packages which I was not prepared.

1. First Place Finish : $599 for four years.
2. Road Hazard Tire and Wheel protection : $987 for four years.
3. Dent protection : $599 for four years.

I am not sure if its a good investment. I don't know how much it takes to buy a new tire and wheel in case if something goes wrong. Please let me your suggestions.

Thanks for guiding me !

Kenneth.

Imo, I'd skip/get out of #s 1 & 3 in a heartbeat...1 is pure bs and
about $550 bucks pure profit for the sltrship. 3 might be barely
ok, if you are leasing and want some work done before "turn in",
but how good is the work gonna be and what kind/severity of "dents"
does it cover? And, do you generally have a dented car, historically?

#2 I am not familiar with, other than anecdotal reading here; I would
read the fine print and make sure it covers you "on the road" and not
just at that stlr. And, "coverage" doesn't mean anyone will have those
new Run Flat Tires in stock...

"Dealer Finance Person"...a euphemism for Shill & Pumper for the House, imo.

I agree. Skip #1 and #3. #2 might be worth it depending on what it covers and whether you live in an area with very bad roads. Price seems a bit on the high side.

What's a first place finish? How often do they apply it? It sounds like a rip off. The dent package also sounds like a rip off. Do you get a lot of door dings? What kind of dents does it cover? I don't have a problem with dents on my cars...

Actually, #2 only cost the dealership 149.99 so the stealership made a whopping $837.01 profit. Mine only cost me $175 cost I gave the stealership a $25 profit. I got it frm a relative of mine who works for a stealership. Don't think you can get it at that price but at least you know how much it really cost.

Agree with all above.

You can always find someone to remove dings, typically charge by the panel, usually around $75-100 depending on location. I found a great guy through a local detail shop.

I was quoted $500 for the tire protection plan but didn't take it. Do a search on tire plan, you will find a lot of info.

Good luck with the purchase!
