guess what i found in the glove box?
 

a BMW flashlight. woo-whoo. manual says it is to be stored in the center console. i guess it goes in the rounded out part of the center console.

not bad, it only took me two weeks to break out the manual. not that i will read it or anything, but at least i know where it is.

All BMW's have this, it mounts inside the glove box.

Maybe all BMWs should have this but a lot of E70's, including mine, do not appear to come with them.

That this is 'brand new' for your model as any 3er, 5er, 6er and X I've ever been in had it. I don't know why BMW would take it away, and since this guy has it, you may want to check for a spot for it in the car. Maybe someone snagged yours prior to delivery. :dunno:

Mine was a circular BMW LED light, brushed alum., but it does not plug into the glove compartment. It was in the trunk.

Same here with the led flashlight in the rear cargo area. I actually asked the salesman about the glovebox flashlight, like the one that came in my e36, but he said bmw did away with those:dunno:

I have the LED flashlight with my e70 that I was delivered in late October. It was in the glove box, but it fits snugly in the center console. It is battery powered (not rechargeable)

i only posted this as i remember seeing a recent post where some people did not get theirs. yes, LED brushed aluminum.

there is a rather odd looking "bracket" in the glove box. is this for the remote control to the video system?

That's for the "shell" for the spare key. Although I recall reading here that they'd done away with that for 2008 models.

I did not get a torch with my x5 e70 should i have had one ?

Found my flashlight in glove box, an extra owners manual in the spare tire well and a Quarter under the passenger seat.

i got my flashlight from the sellman when i picked up my x5 ( so i did have to look for it.)

They don't come with UK spec cars.

No torch in mine either. But I did get an iPod cable which is much more useful!

I got 3 flash lights. One in the glove compartment and two from key chains given by my dealer.

Is your dealer selling those key chains by any chance? Cool.

I'd be surprised if they did, given that they miscopied the roundel. BMW should be coming after them.
