Blu-Ray in an X5

I was curious if anyone out there had modded their factory installed rear entertainment DVD player and put in a Blu-Ray player?

Wouldn't you also be required to have a HD compatible screen?

Hadn't thought of that. I was just trying to keep from buying movies in both formats. I dodn't have a large BD collection (less than 20 movies), but the kids would like to bring those along and at present there is no way. Maybe the best bet is to wait for a portable player and get one when they are available (of if BD comes in the new Macbook Pro that I am dreaming that will be announced next week at MacWorld!)

Yeah wait for a portable.

or go HD-DVD, they have dual format HD-DVD's that play on both HD and standard DVD players.

HD-DVD is a dying breed.....

Get the portable player. Kids love those things and portable means your not stuck to the vehicle.
