22" Wheels.....Which would you choose?!?!.....UPDATED
4 Attachment(s)
Hey All,
I am about ready to purchase some wheels, but before I do, I would like your guys opinion. The first wheel is a 2 piece rim (which can either be chrome or black), while the second wheel is a one piece rim (machined w/ black). Note: The first wheel is black (used for viewing purpose only), but it will be customed to machined also, so it will look similar to the second wheel. Update 1 (30JAN08): I just added 2 photoshopped images. All your opinions would be greatly appreciated. |
2nd wheel.
Both are OK but I wouldn't select either. I think it's the "studs", or whatever you would call those, that put me off. They make the wheels look "too aftermarket" (and thus cheap).
On a classy car, I think wheels should be OEM or look like OEM... |
Neither, but if I had to choose I vote for the second.
Like others, I don't like either, but the second one is better. IMO, keep looking

The second ones would look cool. Have you seen this thread? http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/...lo-panama.html

^^ Those wheels look quite nice. Really they both look very similar and there is very little to choose between them. Hard to say which is better looking so go for what you really like. May be check out some styles other than 5-spokes such as multispokes or mesh (BBS-style).
Nop... Choose style 128 Chrom from BMW.
i personally would choose a tuner wheel made for the e70
Neither. Too bling for my tastes.
Get Schnitzers.
my suggestion is to get something more substantial looking to match the bulkiness of the car
Wheels
HRE's are three piece wheels so that if you damage a section you only have to replace a part, not the entire wheel.
Here's the link: http://www.hrewheels.com/ the 640 series are especially cool |
Both are a might bit gangsta.
May you give me a link to a site from where I can buy the 1st wheels? They're so damn hot.
have you taken a look at the Giovanna Dalars?
The only aftermarket wheels (22") that I would personally get are the Hartge's. I had them on my M5 and it looked amazing! (even though they were only 21"s) Yes, they're heavy, but they make the car very aggresive looking, even with just lowering springs and no body kit.

I really like the look of the Alpina wheels that I saw posted today
If I was looking at adding a new set of wheels, that's what I would be looking into. |
rh71: Thank you for your opinion!
brian5: Thank you for your opinion! I agree with the OEM look. 08WhtX5: Thank you for your opinion! nupe10123: Thank you for your opinion! I am currently still looking. villajoe: Thank you for your opinion! Yes I have and I am actually in contact with the owner, he has been very helpful. breytonX5: Thank you for your opinion! My first choice was the MHT, until I saw the VOSSEN, but with mixed opinions, I am quite confused, which is a good thing, I get to see everyones perspective and which helps my buying decision. janisX5: Thank you for your opinion! Not to offend anyone, but I am not to fond of chrome wheels, the most for me would be chrome lip, I would prefer polished, but most wheels come chrome. toohotdoc: Thank you for your opinion! I though of that and my personal favorite would be the Hartge Classic 8 spoke, but I believe the 10 spokes are only for non SUV's. Brisbane: Thank you for your opinion! Dblock2151: Thank you for your opinion! I thought about it, but the wheel tends to be more appealing to white and blue colored vehicles. xnsf: Thank you for your opinion! Good point, but the wheels I have seen to match the bulkiness of the vehicle seems to over power the vehicle, the wheels that I have seen would fit well would be the size of a QX56. JSR99: Thank you for your opinion! I agree those wheels look nice, but they seem to match the E53 better than the E70 (http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...984_314383301). I did give it a lot of thought though. fwigmw: Thank you for your opinion! rufusdedog: Thank you for your opinion! Anmar Hussain: Best bet would be to contact your local wheel shop and make a deal, if not you can purchase these wheels at www.superbuytires.com or www.wheelwarehouse.com. Call around and see who can give you a better deal, they make the wheels in Black, Chrome, and Custom Brushed Aluminum, which takes about 3 to 5 weeks build time. Let me know how it goes and do not forget to post pictures, PM me or post reply back. Good Luck! yorencer: Thank you for your opinion! Spokes for me looks a little too thin. HaroldC: Thak you for your opinion! Those wheels do look nice, those are my only choice when it come to tuner wheels for this particular vehicle. I am still debating though. brian5: Thank you for your opinion! I will look into those wheels. Thank you all for the votes and opinions you have shared and I greatly appreciate it. It will continue to help with my buying decision and I will let you all know what I have decided in the end. Thanks again everyone! Please continue to share your opinions and suggestions. |
