Need opinions
 

O.k. Long time Bmw lover, owned one 5 series a few years ago and want to get back into the family. here are the options and want you opinion.
2002 X5 4.6is with 52K miles, Certified for 6 more months
2004 X5 4.4 with 48K miles, no warranty I think.
2007 X5 3.0 Lease, not many options.

Please give opinions on cost to own, problems you have had, love of the new body style and other items. As you can tell, I am between the ultimate 4.6is and the base 3.0 and both have pluses and both have minuses. If the 4.6 is going to kill my pocket book in the long run I don't want it but if it is usually reliable and fun to drive then maybe i will. I don't like to lease but it is the only way to afford a new x5 for me right now.

my only comment is this... if you can purchase new then get it... warrantee and maintenance included for 4 years.

if you're considering used... better make sure it has warrantee..

these vehicles are not perfect and they are very expensive to fix.

lease only if you only plan to keep her for a couple of years...

if you can't afford some options you may want to consider something else.

you'll get more for less with another make.
