Car off, fan turns on
After a short suburban ride where brakes were applied on many street corners, I park the car and turn everything off. Then a type of fan sound comes on but only in the right rear wheel well. I assume this has something to do with the 'brake fade compensation' feature of the X? This is the first time I've heard a fan go on after the car goes off. It lasted a good 3-5 mins. I have started using sport mode too so maybe something for the suspension?

It might just be the fan for the Air Con radiator, it is located in front of one of the front wheels (it's the one on the right hand side if your sitting inside the car looking forward)

Normal I believe. Isn't it thermostatically controlled and runs to cool down the engine regardless of ignition? I think there is a warning label to that effect on the fan.. :dunno:

Did you open the hood and see if its the radiator cooling fan? |

My 645 sounds like a Transformer sometimes after I turn it off. Click, buzz, woosh, all kinds of gizmo's running. :) |
Normal. Nothing new in tech, I had a Accord back in 93 which also used to do same.

^ I'm pretty aware of radiator fans going on after engine-offs myself... used to have an Accord that did it all the time. It's just weird this sound is only coming from the right rear wheel well (like a small computer fan). It's in the garage so I can hear the source location pretty well putting my ear up to all corners/wheels of the car. It's not coming from anywhere near the engine unless this is some new technology with a fan leading in from the rear. I'll double check with the hood open next time.

how does the self-levelling suspension work, is it an air system? if so there might be a little fan to blow air over the compressor
