Black lower trim/Armour All

I have a black e53 which I armour all the entire lower black trim along the underside of the vehicle after I wash it. I noticed on the e70 there is a lot more of that trim it seems---do most of you just leave it alone or do some of you armour all it ? Just curious . . .

What trim are you talking about? Can you post some pics?

All the black plastic trim on the E70 bugs me a little bit. I'm going to try Black Wow , that I bought from Detailers Domain, in the spring. I'll try it on the wheel arches first and see how that goes...

I wouldn't use ArmorAll or any other product that I've come across yet.

This is exactly what I have been using on any plastic part of my car that gets exposed to UV, I have used it for years and have nothing but good things to say about it.

I started using in on the plastic trim of the X5 since day one, great stuff.

Cheers,
Keith

I use Back to Black on it, when I use anything.
armoour all is crappy stuff. It drys it out more, so you have to use more and more.

Yeah I only use the Armour All (Extreme Shine) for the lower black trim each week after a wash--I have jet black so it looks good. But for waxing and soap etc I use all the higher end stuff (p21s, Einzett, etc).

I've used that before, but it washes out pretty fast. Detailers Domain has some good trim products, check out their forum.

Armour All is oil based, and generally not a good product to apply anywhere on your vehicle. I say "generally". There are better options out there, Detailers Domain is a good start.

BTW, it should scream to you that something is wrong with a product when it dries out the plastic it's applied to. 15 years ago I saw Armour All destroy the dash on an E30 3-series. Have not touched it since.

I personally go to the local detailing shop and buy their trim dress up liquid. I can't remember the name of the product, but I know that it is silicone based and when applied to the skin at first it feels cold. Once onthe vehilce it looks beautiful! It works perfect! My X is also black, so I know your stress. The Armour All will cause the lower trim to look dried up after a while.
