Australian Review on 3.Osd

Seems to suggest that the performance may not be worth the extra cash

Ouch 9 sec run. And this is the European version of the 3.0sd.

I do wonder if broken-in vehicles would perform better on these tests, and how often they affect numbers you often see provided to the public.

In the netherlands we have a few reviews and they meassure 7.4/7.5 sec.
We also have a 3.0sd and its extremely fast i know i didn't post any pictures but here is one.

Total rubbish! My wifes 3.0sd X3 is a hell of a lot faster than the 3.0d and you hardly feel the turbo lag. Great engine imo.

I've driven the 3.0SD and it has much better pick up from stand still than the 3.0D. I was impressed and can't wait for mine to arrive. Once the engine's broken in, it will be even more faster - something I found out with my current 3.0D

This article is rubbish - check the video max accelaration "3.0sd from 0 - Vmax" that I posted some days earlier in here... if you stop it comes out to 7.2secs for the 0-100km/h...
Also taking the board computer for measuring the actual consumption figures does not show me too much of a deep journalistic approach...

However - one question we discussed in a German forum today: how come, you guys down under have the "old" twin-turbo engine with 200kW/272 bhp instead of the 210kW/286 bhp that we have here in Europe since modell year 2007 in 5-series and the X3/X5? Does anyone know?

I think we are regarded as a tropical climate hence engine is detuned... not sure that is the exact answer but current New Zealand x5 3.0d's have more power than the Australian ones....
