Please HELP: Where is the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) ?

Hello,

Hello, I placed order at the company Hartge for engine conversion by ECU modification for my X5 3.0d (275 hp based 235 hp).

I have to send the ECU by UPS to HARTGE.

Can anybody say to me where is the ECU?

How I can remove the ECU?

Thank you in advance.

This is how you get to the ECU in the 335i and 535i.. so i am assuming it is the same for the X5.

when i get home, i will check but if i were you, i'd check in the same location. 99% of the time, it's in the same location. Under the front vents, under the hood.

I have the new WDS online, you'll find it there just make sure you have the adobesvg plugin installed or it won't work goodluck
p.s. to evereyone who plans on using it, please don't abuse it, and eat up all my bandwidth by trying to print every diagram, its the first time I made it public and plan on leaving it up as long as its not abused. Thanks

its a PITA to get to the ECU in my 335i. lots of things you have to take off and unravel to get to it. hopefully you'll remember how to take it out b/c you'll have to put it back in.

my suggestion would be to find someone with a tuned 335i (Vishnu procede) that has installed/re-installed it a couple of times since they'll know what they are doing. if you need help finding someone, check over on the e90post board.

Thanks to all.

In fact I contacted HARTGE and a technician indicated me the procedure.
It is relatively simple. Within 10 minutes we reach the ECU.

I shall put photos if it little to interest some.

Goodbye.
