I'm not sure but, I don't think it was ever out of production in the U.S.

Yea, I just simply asked.

How do you find out which production code you are under? The 1800 # for BMW USA couldn't tell me. All they could tell me was that it's in the paint shop with an estimated completion date of 2.25.2008

The Owners Circle website can tell you, but it is often behind the real status. The other way is to have your dealer check in their system.

I found the website didn't actually show a lot of those codes listed. They only had like 5 stages thru my whole order.

The dealer just called me and said it was going to be ready for pickup on March 5th after installing the OEM hitch. So, all in all, it's 3-4 weeks from order to delivery. MUCH better than the 6-8 weeks.
