anyone tried zaino?

bought some but I have not had any time to actually try the stuff. any one here used it on their x5? or other bmws?

is there any part of the car which is not 'zaino friendly'? like the bumpers?

i've never waxed / polished a car in my life. i do not wan't to get this wrong. any tips highly appreciated.

thanks!

It's good stuff but it's a lot of work. There are other things out there that give pretty good results for a lot less effort. Whatever you do, don't put Zaino or any other wax on your black plastic parts.

I have used Zaino for years. I find it is best on darker colours. Make sure you get the ZFX activator it cuts down on the drying time 10 fold. Don't get any product on the plastic bumpers, wheels/ headlights, tailights are o.K. you can also apply it to the side and rear windows. It is a polymer (synthetic) so it does last longer than "wax". Prep is everything make sure you clean and prep the car before applying. Wash the car with Dawn dish soap to strip any surface wax. I always clay the vehicle before applying any wax the first time. The Zaino website has full instructions.

Personally I think Zaino is a bit overrated. Try some liquid glass, Ive always used that product and found it to be the best with least effort

Tried the Zaino when I took delivery of my 07 E70 and never used any other wax. Loved it.

Zaino is great. Better than most products, lots of steps, don't get it on the plastic. Klasse is more one step synthetic, but it doesn't look great by itself, you still need to clay bar and polish it up first. Blackfire is also a super synthetic that produces good results.

Looking for super gloss, finished look, top it off with P21S carnuba.

You will get mixed answers on which wax to use. Since you mentioned you never have waxed a car I would not start off using Zaino as it is a multi-step process. I prefer P21s as it goes on and off like butter and has great depth/shine. It's not as durable as Zaino since that is a synthetic and P21s is pure carnuba but it's so easy to apply I do it every 3 months.

thanks for the replies. does it have to be dawn soap? (thats what zaino suggest we use to wash the car)

we don't have dawn here so will generic liquid soap do the job?

and does the car need to be parked in sunlight while allowing the stuff to dry?

thanks again

If you're not a fan of the steps involved but want similiar results, try Zaino AIO (All-in-one). Good stuff! Rejex is also another good synthetic wax.
