E70 putting out a lot of wiper fluid??

Has anyone else noticed how this car really goes through wiper fluid? I know I'm in Denver and we use a lot of fluid due to snow/ice and the Magnesium Chloride that they put on the roads, but I would swear that the X5 goes through TWICE as much fluid as my other 3 cars!

It does, mainly because of the headlights I think....

Yes I have noticed this as well. The headight washers get activated every second or third cycle as well so that will use up fluid quickly.

I don't think the E70 sucks up half as much washer fluid as the E53s did.

I noticed the same thing. The tank can slosh out fluid. It was replaced by the dealer with an improved tank. Smaller opening on rear of tank.

I had to put in more washer fluid after having the X5 for only two weeks. Granted, we did have several snow storms in the NYC area during that time period.

Mine has a leak but I have not taken it in yet. A gallon lasts maybe two weeks and leaks out a hole in the undertray on the passanger side by the front headlight. It was fine until I took it in for the recall. If you have a big loss in fuid you might look. I had colored Rainx fluid so it was eay to see dripping all over the floor. Now I use water till I get it in. Just a thought for some of you. It is next to impossable even removing the tray to get up in there as I am sure it is a lose connection.

They had to pull the fender off to get to mine. In any case, the new tank works as it should. There's probably a TSB on replacing the old tank.
