Its a different society around here !! You guys aren't understanding that part.

Here, a dad usually buys his children cars when they get their license. It's the norm here. Before that, they usually have a driver who drives them around. No one walks to his friend's house here unless they're next door neighbors or something

Yes it's under his dad's name, but it's "his" car. As in his personal use and no one else usually drives it.

Wagner, people here enter colleges young usually. I remember I entered when I was barely 16.

A person becomes independent of his/her family when they start working or get married.

Culturally life is different here. There are no summer jobs(ie working at a mall, fast food place etc) also there are usually no household chores since a lot of the households have maids, drivers, chefs, etc.
