Anyone Switch From X5 to 528xi/535xi
Has anyone switched from an X5 to a 528xi/535xi?
My 2005 X5 lease expires on 5/5/08. Anyone go from the SAV back to the sedan? |
We did consider the 535xi wagon before buying the X5, but the exchange rate/pricing makes the X5 a much better buy. Plus, my wife was tired of her wagon.

Sold a 2003 X5 3.0 in October 2007. Traded it on a 535i, not an x model. Bought 4 Dunlop Wintersport M3 tires on OEM 17" wheels, as the sport package tires and wheels are not suitable for winter. Had no trouble even in heavy snow through January and February.
We did trade my wife's 325xi for an X3 at the same time, so I have access to an AWD, but the car has done fine. The X3 is for utility, carrying bikes/etc. I originally wanted a 535 Touring, but my wife didn't like the look of it. As it turned out, I am very happy with the sedan. I still think Tourings are cool. |
Thinking about getting a 535XiT or a 550 in addition, how do you guys feel about the 550 ? not worth it ? worth it ?
|
I went from 530 to X5 4.8. My opinion, 550 is definitly worth it if you like the feeling of a V8. 535 has plenty of HP these days though :)

I've just come from a 535d to an X5 Sd.
Loved my 5er but just fancied a change |

If you are going with a manual, get the 535, its actually more fun then the 550i. Spend the money on a engine tune to gain some extra power, well worth it. But if you are getting the auto, the extra torque of the 550 makes it a better drive IMO. But if I was you, I would get the 535i with a manual, add a Dinan chip and you are good to go. |

So, why are you considering going from a SAV to a sedan? |
