Antici...pation - Waiting for X5 Therapy
 

YEA, I finally ordered my X5 and the Anticipation is killing me!!!! Only daily visits to X5world are keeping me sane. So I start this thread simply for therapeutic reasons.

I'm going with the BMW Performance Center Delivery in South Carolina. Only problem is the earliest day available for the PCD is May 8th, eventhough my X will be ready March 31st.

Here's what I ordered: 4.8i, Space Grey Metallic, Black Perforated Nevada, Active Ventilated Seats w/Multi-Contour, Premium Package, Premium Sound Package, Rear Climate Package, Sport Package, 20" Y Spoke Wheels, Technology Package, Heated Front & Rear Seats, HD Radio, Satellite Radio, iPod/USB Adapter, Trailer Hitch Kit & Phone Adapter for RAZR.

After delivery, I plan to have 3M clear mask installed (before trip home) and EBC "Red Stuff" brakes to reduce the universally hated dust. After the POS run-flats wear out, I plan to replace them with Michelin Latitudes. If someone wants the run-flats, please let me know.

I'm already loading up the iPod with road tunes for the trip home from the PCD.

Of course, I'll post pics of the delivery and road trip.

If anyone has any tips on the PCD, road trip, or ways to stay sane while waiting for your new BMW, please reply.

Drank lots yesterday, with green dye. Made me forget yesterday, but now my piss looks strange.

ahh the folly of youth. i have about 6k on my 08, and last couple of days i have been playing around with the sport mode/ manual drive. ho-mom-maah this thing is quick. of course my mpgs have suffered.

i had to pass on the PCD unfortunately. i envy you, i hear it rocks.

Sport mode is like :yikes: :band: :angryfire :dance: :sw: :drool: :wow: :driver: :bow: :boogie: :kungfu: :zoom: :bounce: :woot: :flex: :gunner: :thud: :whistle:

Congrats! :beerchug: I've been dying during the wait for my car as well. We pick it up Monday at 2PM. It still seems like it's soooooo far away!

Are you doing the Performance Center Delivery on Monday?

I'm envious that you going to do PDC delivery. That would be such a cool experience, but unfortunately one that my fiance would not find too interesting. Congrats, and this site is good therapy!

I wish. I'll be picking her up from a dealership here in NJ. My wife says I'm driving her crazy because Monday is all I want to talk about! :nanana:

Thanks Tango. From what I've read about PCD, I'm fairly sure I'll have a blast. The only thing I'm disappointed about is there are no factory tours allowed right now because of "new model changes".

And of course I'll share my best pics. I just have to convince my wife to take pictures while we're on the skid pad!!
