Hi Denalio,
Are you planning on removing them and spraying them (I assume hoses attached - just unmounted)? Silver IMO... black you won't notice them and the flashy colors are for those who wanted Brembo's etc but couldn't afford them.

Gloss or flat black.

Yes I was going to remove them with the brake line attached tape them off and spray. I would go gloss black if I chose that color. Then apply a couple coats of clear.

I would recommend this stuff:

http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/g2/caliper_paint.jsp

I've used it with my friend on his e53 4.6is and had great results, and that was over two years ago. We just cleaned it thoroughly with brake clean, didn't even use a brush or anything else. We used the brush provided to paint the caliper and didn't use the spray, too much trouble to tape and mask off the calipers.

Good Luck!

Did you get brush stroke marks on the caliper that were noticeable? That's my big concern. I want them to look at smooth as I can get them without any streaky paint marks.

Pics are from X6 concept pics in this thread. BMW has also shown the blue calipers on 1-series tii. They are also selling yellow ones for BMW performance parts.
