Hi,

My final order was confirmed in January and I'm expecting delivery early April.

I've just trawled the dealer accessories brochure and noticed an iPod/iPhone cable for the 6FL and headphones for the DVD player in the rear.

The cable is outrageously priced at GBP 39.99. Should this come bundled with the 6FL option? Equally should I get 2 sets of headphones since I've ordered the DVD system in the rear?

If not, did anyone purchase the cable elsewhere? It's not a lot of money given my order value is approx GBP 65k but I resent paying nearly £40 for a cable that I'm sure cost 50p to produce.

Are there any other items that I should expect to come with the car or items they've had the dealer throw in?

Did anyone go for the seal and protect?

i had the 6FL option and didnt recieve the cable either, i am currently using my ipod nano balck 8GB with the standard I-POD usb cable, and having no probelms with it at all, this however does not work with my I-POD touch for some reason, im assuming its because its the next gen model and i have been told by the Dealer that i need there cable £39.99 for it to work, apparently there cable utililises the USB cable for control and the AUX socket for sound...

At £39.99 ill stick with my Nano!!

To add.... i also had the super guard which im assuming is the seal and protect and it does make a difference when you wash it the car, to be honest you can have it done else where alot cheaper but i got that thrown in free of charge along with the 6FL USB audio interface...

ps ..you do get a super guard bag with with the seal and protect, this comes with cleaning products etc..this now lives in the storage compartment under the boot the sponge that they give you is not up to much though i think it lasted one guy on here 2 washes... mines on its 3rd and its already come apart..

I ordered december and my SD is due late April/early May.

I have the £39 lead for my ipod touch its a great piece of kit that syncs the cars level to the ipod regardless of what update version you are running. It is also totally controllable with the steering wheel and idrive screen, I love it, well worth the money. Yes it should come with the option, but it seems to be more than just a cable, it has a box in the middle which must be the clever sync bit.

I have also ordered rear DVD and I presume that the pair of headphones will come with the car + remote?

Oh and BMW have just had a price increase, carpet mats are now standard accross the range.

Mats standard? Must have been a big price increase for them to feel sorry for us!


My dealer gave me the cable free (have been using them for ten years)..definitely worth it in my mind to give you the full synching.

I didn't receive the IPod cable with the 6FL option, nor did I get a set of IR headphones with the DVD system.

I didn't realise the cable served as something more than a normal USB - iPod connector - given I'm using the iPhone as my main phone and storage of music it looks like I'll need to stomach the purchase of the cable.

I negotiated a £500 discount on the car so the dealer is reluctant go give anything else up.

Given the IR headphones are not included and need to be purchased have people bought the BMW ones or resourced something better elsewhere?
