Footwell net in X5
Does anyone know why BMW still doesn't include a net in the passenger footwell of the X5 yet? The X3, 5 series, M5/6, 7 series, Z's, etc. all have it. Any clues?

Door bins in the X5 are huge maybe? Certainly a lot bigger than all of the others I would think. Never been in a 7 though.
|
I wish the door bins in the X5 were narrower! In fact, I wish the doors in the X5 were narrower!!! There's not much space for driver and passengers to squeeze out the door openings if the X5 is parked next to a wall or close to another car.
So my question would be "Why are the doors so fat?" |
Used the storage net in the Z4, since the owner's manual was too big to fit in the glove box. Have never used it in any other BMW, wasn't aware it was there until now.

I installed the nets on both passenger and driver's sides. Don't really need them, but thought they looked cool.

Which ones did you install since there are several versions? Any photos? Do you have the part numbers? How difficult was installation and most importantly was there any risk (that you know of) of puncturing anything important?

Why would anyone park so that one would have to squeeze out the door openings if the X5 is parked next to a wall or close to another car? Surley that invites dings and scrapes would it not???

Hey hey hey... stay on topic here. Some of us prefer to park next to walls, so what's it to you...never seen a guy crawl out the trunk before???

Never returned to your car to find someone has parked very close to you? I certainly have.
