How to reset airbag light?

I had my seat out today and turned turned the ignition on and it popped up a airbag light. Do I have to take it to the dealer to have it reset?

Yes. On modern BMWs, the peake SRS reset tool doesn't work. I'm not sure if the AutoIngenuity or similar tool has that ability. A few BMW tuners also have a GT1, which would do the trick. If you're close to Bimmerworld, I think thye've got one.

Try disconnecting the battery for about 5 min... and then re-connecting, the fault code may clear.
