Difference in Cargo Areas
Hello all. I am still searching for a good cargo liner (durable rubber) for my soon to arrive 2008 X5. I am looking for a liner that will cover the back of the second row seats when they are folding down (I did not get 3d row seating). I found something that might work: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-X...spagenameZWD1V
It does not look like it would provide super great protection so I thought that I would put it under one of the more durable, lipped mats made for only the rear area. That way, the rear area has good protection and when I put the seats down, then I have some protection for the seat backs. Thoughts? Will this work? The big question is that it states that the mat is for 2000 to 2006. I don't know what I don't know- was there a change to the cargo area from 2006 to 2007? I cannot believe how frustrating this is to find what I am looking for- I know that product has to be out there somewhere. If anyone knows where it is, your advice will be greatly appreciated. |

Well, ...yes, ...there was a change in cargo area from 2006 to 2007... there is a totally new model on the market since 2007...(2000 - 2006: e53; 2007 - now: e70). :loco: |
I have this one.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-O...3756.m20.l1116
it doesn't cover the back of the seats though. I use this when i'm hauling the dogs. http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemVi...&productId=832 |

Check out Carbox (German Company):
http://www.carbox.de/english/produkte_us.html They have a lot of options for the 07-08 X5 including with the 2nd seat folded. Not sure if they will meet your needs or not. Their U.S. Distributor is: http://mats4less.com/carbox-floor-liners.html Their website is not great but you call them they can order whatever you want. Another option: Hatchbag - The material is not real thick thus these tend to shift a bit during transit. Might not be great for an active dog. http://www.hatchbag.com/suvcargoliner_hatchbag.php |

The clearence is so tight on the BMW it never worked for me so I did what I could with it. You can order it to cover the back with the seat up or down. It is flexible but durable and I got it for my dogs. Again though it is not an easy off and on thing. I though of redoing mine with velcro. |

That is disapointing assuming that Carbox makes it. A couple of years ago I wanted a Carbox product they did not stock and they were more than happy to special order it for me. It took a couple of months as it came via ship from Germany but I did receive it.
