Hi,

What's your experience of the TV, especially in the UK?

In some locations around Hertfordshire (Welwyn, etc.) I seem to get reasonable reception. Other places I get nothing.

Is this typical behaviour? I thought the digital TV signal had better coverage then what I seem to be experiencing in the car.

Has anyone addressed this with BMW? Do you know if there are any known problems in this area?

I've also got the DAB radio which, regardless of location, does not get a signal at all - does any have DAB working?

Digital TV is suppose to have better coverage, however it works mutch diferently from the analog TV
For instance with Digital the picture is eather there or not, so you cant realy get anything if the reception is por.
In Sweden i can say that as long as you are stationary it will work just fine, if you are moving it will not be as good, and if you travel longer distance you wil have to rescan since the brodcast station that you started up with is out of range and a new one has diferent signature

It's strange in that some stations I receive are poor quality, e.g. fuzzy picture, bad quality picture, etc. This is more how analogue TV would work.

Is the BMW tuner both Digital and Analogue?

Yes it ia a hybrid tuner with analogue and digital
We dont have any stations sending analogue anymore, are some still sending in GB?

I live in Ireland and i have pretty much the same issues as you.

TV is patchy depending on location.

I have not been able to pick up any DAB radio stations, however DAB is in it's early stages here in Ireland.

Yes, we still receive analogue in the UK. I didn't realise the tuner was both analogue and digital hence my picture breakup must be happening when it can't get a digital signal and it's tuned to an analogue station.

I can't get DAB with the car anywhere in South East England although my portable DAB radio in the house works fine. There must be a problem with the DAB unit or aerial connection, etc.
