Who knows, tell ya right now I had rotors changed out on my X5 about a half a dozen times in 50K miles for oddities. Build a strong relationship with your SA and you can get nearly anything done under warranty.

I could be wrong, but I wouldn't make a special trip to the dealer for that unless it gets worse. That seems to be very minimal and I don't see how it is going to affect how your X stops or anything. I would just mention it the next time you are at the dealer for service unless you just have nothing to do and feel like waiting or driving a loaner for some reason.

Because there are two distinct 4/50 covers in the US. There is the warranty, for defective parts and manufacturing (same as the rest of the world, although the term may vary). Then, there is the maintenance program that covers wear-out of all components, including brake pads, clutch disks, wiper blades, etc. The maintenance plan for wear out has nothing to do with warranty, but the two coverages are often blurred together by owners.

You can experience early-hour defective rotors, but not several times over an extended period, that is more likely related to usage.

I had the same thing in both my front rotors at less than 2,000Kms on the clock and with deeper groove! This is a serious mnufacturing defect as my dealer told me. They replaced both rotors and pads, a full brake job in half a day.. All under warranty. IT's a known problem, take it ti your dealer!
