Tinting and Privacy Glass

For those of you that got the rear climate package which included the privacy screen/tint, have any of you gotten aftermarket tints on top of it. I am looking to tint the fronts and want it to match all around. Not sure if it is possible to match all the windows if the rear windows have the factory tints on it.

I tinted mine with Huper Optik Drei front and rear. The rears are just a bit darker but really not that noticeable when inside the vehicle. See pic attached.

i'll be doing mine probably next weekend... i'm also going to tint just the fronts to match the rears that come with the rear climate pkg..

i'm not sure what that number is but i believe it's 35...

anything darker and it will look as if the fronts are darker than the rear..

Yeah, I had the 2 front windows tinted with 3M ceramic 35% tinting, and it matches my rear climate pkg. glass perfectly. Since I have black interior, the 35% looks really dark in the front. I would like the front a little lighter looking actually, but I know when it is 107F in July/Aug/Sept....I'll appreciate the 35%.

I think the factory tint of 35% allows in too much light for me. I was going to try to get a 25% tint all around. If they were to put 25% on the fronts and put a 25% on top of the rear would it come out to look like 25% or would it be darker. I am assuming it would be a bit darker in the rear since it is double layering tint. Anyway around this?

It's very common to have the front tint lighter than the back so I don't think it's such a big deal to have them pecfectly matched. Most cars here in L.A are like that since it's illegal to have the front tinted anyway but the cops will cut you some slack if the fronts are not too dark. I have 5% rear and 15% in the front and they still look good. Anything more than 20% does not cut it for me when it's over 100 degrees in the summer and I have 2 kids in the rear.

I used Huper Optik Drei which is approx 30%. Since the car came with Rear Climate Package, the rears are tinted from the factory but not the fronts, hence the slight color variation. It's not as noticeable in person (unlike the pic which was taken in direct sunlight).

Have LUMAR 35% all round including rear hatch with privacy glass. Back is still slightly more dark than the front, but it looks great.

Cheers,
