HARTGE http://www.hartge.de has a offroad conversion for the X5 and X3, offering full length skid plates, 4cm suspension lift for a 27cm ground clearance, front and rear diff locks, larger tires and more.

Is there any other supliers of skid plates etc?

Picture of underbody protection is from a X3

X5 and off-road don't belong in the same sentence, not in any serious way anyway.

awesome, if you like the sound of creaks in your 60k truck.

Pretty amazing pics, but I wonder how many of us and,
"why"take the X in the woods, "for fun"?

I'd buy a rat Jeep if I wanted to shimmy through trees and
drag the front end on steep downgrades, but diff'n strokes.

Who is talking of having a skid plate "for fun"?
Why do you think you need a FWD if all you do is cruise down a concrete highway?
Here are some pictures from a county road not far from here.

nynd, its not my car. Pictures are from HARTGE http://www.hartge.de in Germany. Shouldn't be a problem ordering them there.
