What is Kick-down mode?

I was reading the owners manual and had a few questions in regards to the Break-in Period.

The manual states:
"Avoid full-throttle operations and use of the transmission's kick-down mode during these initial miles"

What is kick-down mode?

Kick down is when you put the gas to the floor and the transmission drops down a gear and pretty much goes to the top of the RPM range.

> forcing the transmission to down shift.

For further clarification of the kick-down mode- You will notice that at the very end of the gas pedal travel there is a "click" or a button type thing. Engaging it forces the transmission into the lowest gear possible (be it 1, 2 or 3 gears downshift) for max acceleration.
