Mid-Cycle Facelift, etc.
 

When do you think BMW will do it's mid-cycle changes to the e70 ? Just like on the e53 for '04 they did one with new wheel options, mild facelift, etc. So I'm guessing there will be one next Fall for 2010 ? I don't like the rear unpainted bumper and the 20s are nice but they will undoubtedly have a different style next cycle change.

If BMW follows their usual cycle, all models get a re-freshening after 4 years. Then about 2 years after the slight (but almost always better & noticeable changes) a new model will debut. Once in a while (as in the case of the 7 Series and X3) changes are made before the 4 year mark, if sales are really low, or there are a lot of customer complaints regarding materials, craftsmanship, electronics, etc.. BMW did a lot of 5 Series interior upgrades, before the official 2008 "face-lifted" 535i & 550i came out, as the 2004-2007 5er had rubbish interior materials.

If you don't like unpainted bumpers, take the M Sport kit, they will be painted.

Is the M Kit the same as the Aero kit ? I know here in the US I've only seen the Aero kit and it doesn't paint the bumpers. I am hoping they paint the rear bumper in the next year or 2--the rest are fine.

The M Kit is different from the aero kit. Just search M Sport kit for photos. IMO the aero kit looks awesome. Perfect balance of bumper with painted parts (especially for light color cars)

Ok I've seen the M kit now. Way too much paint all the way around and upkeep with nics and all would be impossible to maintain IMO.

That's what I thought initially too, but in the flesh, the dark colours (blacks, Blue) look really good. Silver and Gray are less impressive. One of my neighbours has just got a black M-sport SD, and I look at it enviously!

However, there is one good reason to not get the SD - you cannot spec it with a heated steering wheel in the UK, and I am addicted to mine! I know I'm clutching at straws here.....:rolleyes:

I agree - you can spec it on the German website but not uk - may be an omission from BMW GB website.

Here is UK digital brochure - the hyphen represents that it is not selectable as an option. If it was it would have a cost against it.

What does M Sport package include?

In aus, there are some M Accessories, but it does not come within a Package. M aerodynamic kit, roof railing in Line aluminium, M wheels, what else?
