Aero Kit - Vehicle Prep Center Install

Talking with the dealer regarding the aero kit for the X5, he indicated it could be installed by BMW’s west coast vehicle prep center prior to being delivered to the dealer. Cost is $1,800 (kit, paint, install). Has anyone heard of this? I saw a copy of the quote from the prep center thus is appears to be legitimate.

Reading other posts it sounds like I could probably get a slightly better deal if I ordered it myself, had the local body shop paint it, etc. but not sure it is worth the hassle.

Yes, you can get a better deal if you work at it but $1,800 is reasonable for BMW-dealer installation.

reasonable for sure... doing the whole order --> paint-thing yourself is such a PITA.

get the aero kit, really finishes the vehcile off,looks lacking without it - best thing i did
