Electronic Dampening Malfunction !
 

Anyone get the message "electronic dampening mafunction" ? Did you take it to the dealer and what was the fix for the suspension?

Yes, I had the problem about 10 days after taking delivery in November.

Ride became progressively worse & the rear end of the vehicle elevated to the limit of the computer controlled suspension.

Diagnosed as a faulty sensor, this was replaced & no problems since.

It took two days for the diagnoses & fix. The dealer got the part overnight, installed it and it was fixed.

Dealer needs to replace module and both rear shocks. They have to order them from germany.

Well I had the module, both EDC shocks and the EDC satellites replaced. Seems that there are updated parts to this system. Faulty EDC valve coils. Work order said that they replaced all with updated parts and reprogrammed. Everything is working fine.

Welcome to the real world of problems.... As with the E54, I had numerous error messages for electonic suspension innactive etc.... Once the dealer change everything but luckilly I was under warranty (45.000KMS)! Next time it started around 70K, I decided to seel the car and order an E70, with sport suspension and NO ELECTRONIC SUPENSION etc... It drives absolutely fantastic ( no body roll) and I know I will be out of huge bills when warranty will expire....
