Do dogs have trouble jumping into the way-back?

Kind of a silly question I know. We have an 8yr old Lab mix - approx. 75lbs. She has no trouble jumping into our Audi allroad. Wondering about what others have experienced with the X5. Thanks.

My doggie likes the normal backseat, but he'll have no problem hopping in the back.

I guess my concern is that when she jumps up from the ground she's going to slip on the plastic surface of the lower tailgate.

That's my concern too, so my GSDs get a lift in and then a lift out. Otherwise the back is ideal, they are not allowed onto the backseat. Normally place a thick blanket in the back and they are perfectly happy there.

Cheers,

If you really think she'll have trouble with it, just give her a little booster when she jumps up. :)

I have smaller dogs, so whenever they ride with me they're in the back seat (although inexplicably one always ends up in the front).

My GSD jumps all the way in, My stuborn Great Dane puts front feet up then kinda walks in, of course he is tall enough to do that.
your lab should be able to jump all the way in. I do put a blanket down.
German shepard is abou 110 and Dane is about 175

We have a 25 lb Puggle (pug/beagle mix) and her springs will get her in the back without issue. We also have a Golden Doodle @ 90 lbs and he has no chance. He gets the front paws up and I take care of the rest.

My year old 55 lb standard poodle has no trouble getting out, he is a bit apprehensive about jumping in. I bought the reversible mat for the back (carpet on one side and rubberized on the other) he loves it - non slip.
