auto close power windows and moonroof??

can this be done via the keyfob??

i have comfort access...(but i'm not sure this makes a difference)

i can hold down the unlock button and not only will it disarm and unlock but if i hold it long enough it will also lower all the windows and open the moon roof...

a nice feature but i can't seem to figure out how to auto close everything when i arm and lock the vehicle...

is this possible?? or do i have to manually close everything before arming and locking it??

I believe it is just like all past US-spec BMW models. You cannot use the Convenience close feature due to fear of the health & safety people and lawsuits.

In 2006, the E90 with CA allowed you to use Convenience close by holding your finger on the handle grooves for a few seconds, even in the US. This loophole was closed in subsequent model years.

I can still do that on my 07 X5. Not sure if being in Canada makes a difference. I believe all NA vehicles should more or less be the same...

Closing with the keyfob is for sure not programmed.

It might be because '07 was the first X5 model year. I know '07 3s cannot do convenience close via CA. '07 3ers also cannot have highbeams and foglamps at the same time, and I think the rear foglamps require the front foglamps to be on. It's wierd how first model year cars have these awkward loopholes that get closed.

in Oz, locking everything is the same in reverse
you hold down the unlock button to open and close everything

I have comfort access too, I have not been able to get the keypad to work, but you can do this with the door handle. Put your finger on the top of the door handle, like you are going to lock the car, leave it there for a few seconds and all will close!

Check out one of our site sponsors - EAS. Tom might just have what you're looking for. I know he carries this module for other vehicles but not sure about the E70...

We already offer this for e9X models - features include the following:

- One touch window roll down
- One Touch window roll up
- Automatic Door Unlocking
- Automatic Mirror Folding

If a local (Orange Co.) X5 would like to come into our facility for datalogging, we can offer a similiar module for the new X5.

Not from the remote/key fob, but you can close everything by turning and holding the key in the locked position in the driver's door.

While having a module to customize this would be cool, I just don't want to mess with the electronics on such a electronic heavy car. Who knows what effects, electronically, mods to the system will do.

The module we use for the e9X is using factory BMW canbus commands. ;)
