Can anyone tell me how they are installed? Is it a big effort or are there any clips or screws for easy installation.
How especially with the footrest - with most of the pictures I do see 4 screws (hexagon socket / Inbus): are there (covered) holes there already in standard fitting?

The pedals mentioned are all covers. Very easy to install.

Footrest is simply screwed on.

You will need a drill to go through the metal brake pedal after the rubber/plastic cover is removed. Gas pedal is rubber so easy to drill through. Then it's a matter of putting through the screws and tightening up the nut in the back (that's what makes it stay very secure and not move around).

The BMW pedals are different. I've never seen them in person, but have heard that no drilling is required. Cannot confirm, but this is what I've heard the instrucitons are: The brake pedal is a simple replacement of the original rubber/plastic. While the gas pedal is an entire piece replacement. (I've seen pictures of it on eBay) it looks like you just unscrew and replace the entire part (slightly more than the gas pedal. It's attached to a back piece).

Juicer: Are you just going to put ACS gas over the BMW gas pedals? If not, did the dealer return the original gas pedal to you?

Did you get the ACS or ACS replicas? When you have them installed, can you some photos of the installed footrest from varying angles. I'm really on the border line with those.

It's really between the ACS and the Hamann's for me right now. Hamann's have great fit, but I think the ACS provides a bit more class (plus it has the rubber grips).

How about the stock ones? I've never liked any pedals other than stock, for both functional and aesthetic reasons.

Function wise: why make the pedals any thinker that stock? I'm 6'0" and like to have as much legroom as possible and still be able to have a good reach on the steering wheel. (maybe it's the race car driver in me) All of the pedals mount on top of the stock pedals, which will further reduce legroom. Yes, it's only a fraction of an inch, but every little bit helps.

Aesthetic wise: I really don't like the way the ACS dead pedal looks. It is their standard size, which covers all cars from an e36 to e70. Our cars have a very large dead pedal, which means that the ACS one covers only part of the pedal. It looks stupid to me. Why not make one that covers the entire dead pedal. (I guess it's cheaper to make one that fits all)

I've never changed any of the pedals on my cars, even the race car. Stock FTW!

when they arrive i will have a better idea, but imagine they will replace it and provide pedal back to me. just like the fitting on my 4.8is

I have had genuine ACS pedals on my last 4 vehicles and there really is something more tactile in the feel driving with them. They are awesome. Be that everyday driving on my track M3 - dont knock 'em till you've tried 'em ;)

I think I asked this previously in another thread but never got an answer.

Does anyone know if the pedals in the X5 (E53) are the same as the X5 (E70)? I found some nice ACS replicas, but they were meant for the previous X5. The seller of course claims that they fit, but I'd like to confirm that from another source (since there was a negative feedback that the item another buyer got didn't fit their car as advertised).

Any help is appreciated.

I currently have the genuine ACS pedals for my E53 but I just swapped them out for a CF set. From looking the pictures of E70's pedals, they look exactly identical. So you should be good. :thumbup:
