When can 2009 X5 be ordered?

Any estimates from prior experiences?

My dealer told me in August. It will be out in October...

So when can we expect to see confirmation of the new options/packages/changes available for the 2009? In August too?

It wasn't till October for the '08MY IIRC. Even brochures weren't available early on despite orders being placed. They seem to like to wait till the last possible minute.

Will the 2009 x5 be any different; my guess is that you will be able to get the diesel, wonder if the twin turbo 3 will be an option?

DSE 05-30-2008 12:00 PM

My local dealer said that both diesel and the twin turbo gasoline 6 cylinder will be available for the X5 in MY 2009, but I take what he says with a grain a salt. I do hope both will be an option. I looks forward to some test drive reports from Roundel and other car mags.

BMW formally announced the diesel availability with a press release in January.

Yes, I should have been clearer. I was told (but am not sure) that the twin turbo 6 cylinder gas engine will be available for the X5 in 2009.

Middle east 2009 and other model years are different from US model years. US 2009 model X5 production will start in late Sept/ early Oct.

Agree. And sorta expecting updates to be made to the 2009 during the next year after that...

seatttli 06-01-2008 10:49 AM

true, you got a point but its mainly engine wise, i wish they would fix the bluetooth though, the i drive needs some tuning as well. the M package is nothing without the M engine i dont know why batherd, if only an X5 with a 10 celinder and 500 HP that ill be the day

peanuto 06-01-2008 11:49 AM

Im assuming I shouldn't hold my breath for the 6cyl to get the twin turbos anytime soon

I think so. They'll probably want to distinguish the 2009 diesel for a year at least.
