Jet Black paint
 

Just took delivery of jet black 2008 E70 4.8 last night. Noticed this morning, with direct sunlight hitting it, that the front panel (above the wheel) was a slightly different shade of black than other panels. Only really noticeable in direct sunlight. Could this be right? Any info/insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

I would take it back to the dealer and see what they say.

they'll say..,"uh...thats the sun light hitting at a different angle"

Try with a bright white hand-held light source indoors and see if they are actually different.

I highly doubt that they are. pics would be nice too

All of these cars can undergo a certain level of repair/touch up if damaged in shipping. It may be possible that this area was repaired incorrectly or something. Take a real good look at it in different types of lighting to be sure. If you are sure you can tell a difference take it back to the dealer and see what they say.

my 07 jetblack have a diff. paint on the roof i mean the trims that are under the roofrack its look like saphine black and the dealer said is normal :dunno:

Remember too that the front fenders are delivered fully painted and fitted out with the lights and screen wash bottle etc to the factory. The remainder of the vehicle is pianted on site.
