Phone / voice activation question...
I'd like to have my programmed numbers be recognized by the voice activation system.
In the manual it makes reference to the CD and DVD drives. What does this have to do with it? Do I need to essentially create a new phone book with the voice prompts? Any help is appreciated. BTW, my Treo 700wx pairs just fine and I haven't had any issues. It only downloads the phone book, not the names from Outlook contacts, but that's OK. A whiz kid at the dealer set it up for me. |

Yes, the X's phonebook is independent of your phone's phonebook. If you want to use the X's voice prompts to dial stored numbers you'll need to create a phonebook via the voice promps, i.e After you press/hold the voice button and hear the beep... 1. YOU: "Save Name" 2. X: "Please say the name" 3. YOU: "Bill mobile" 4. X: "Please say the number" 5. YOU: "2065551234" 6. X: "2065551234" (repeats the number for accuracy) 7. YOU: "Save" 8. X: "Name Saved" To call "Bill" After you press/hold the voice button and hear the beep... 1. YOU: "Dial Name" 2. X: "Please say name" 3. YOU: "Bill Mobile" 4. X: "Did you say dial Bill Mobile"? ("Bill Mobile" will be in your voice) 6. YOU: "Yes" 7. X: "Dialing number" ...and the call is executed. You can always say "Help" after the beep and he'll repeat the available commands. Hope this helps. |

Very helpful, thanks. So, where does this info get "saved"? It seems like the phone is acting as almost a surrogate to the car there just to place calls from the car's memory?? |
