Changing the Rear Muffler

Hello ,

as U know if i am going to install supersprit ( haman ) rear muffler or any other type it will cost me more than 3000 $ . ( at least in my country ).

my friend has just modifyied his rear muffler by his own , he cut the standered one into dual.

The sound is good , and it only cost him 300 $ for minor modifications.

however , i am an owner of an X5 E70 2009 and i would like do the same , just i am little afraid .

what are the effects , ( back pressure ...etc) ...

will it harm my engine if i modyfied my rear muffler ?

keep in mind that myfriend has done this 3 months ago and untill now its perfect.

i originally purchased dual exhaust tips for my 08 3.0. and although it looked good it really wasn't what i expected...

note: in order to install any aftermarket tips you will have to cut and weld...

i decided ultimately to do a full or semi-full exhaust system.. which will provide a better sound and maybe some minor hp gains...

i don't think changing the exhaust tips alone will change the stock sound or create any backpressure...
