V1 Hardwire for E70 and......Hello!

Hi All,
I just picked up a 2008 X5 3.0is in Alpine White with Tobacco Interior:
ZCW
ZPP
ZPS
ZRC
ZTP
Running Boards

yada...yada....yada....:D

I owned a 2002 X5 for about a year and felt it was too small and too choppy riding, but so far my wife and I are really enjoying the E70.....massive improvement and a nice replacement for her outgoing 2006 530xit

Anyway, the very first thing I always do on any new vehicle is a hardwire install for the V1.

I've done a few searches, but haven't found a simple tutorial yet for wiring it in to the sunroof control area.

Links??

Thanks!

Lots of posts. One of the better is KEF's instructions

Go to your local dealer.

Offer one of the techs $50 bucks.

Wait 20 minutes.

Drive home with your newly-installed V1 (knowing, by the way, that it was done correctly). :D

Nah.....that would be too easy!:D I've hardwired V1's into 7 BMW's now.....it's a 10 minute job once you know which wire to clip on to.

I make a decent living, but not quite $300.00 and hour!!

lots of whites... silver BMWs were most common in the late 90s-00s from what I've seen... hardly any silver E70s.

I'm still one... LOL

I've owned 5 Ti SiLver BMW's including a 2002 M3, 2 E39 5 Series cars and, most recently, a 2005 545i and 2006 530xit wagon.

It was time for a change and I felt that white was the better color for the E70 anyway.......IMO of course!

I'm really digging the white/tobacco combo though I would prefer the carpet to be black with black door panels and tobacco inserts.
