pedal cover idea??
 

Hey all, I have the tan/black interior and black all weather mats on my white X5 but i have noticed in the last 5 days since ive had the vehicle that the foot rest "pedal" on the far left has tan colored rubber that scuffs up really quick with black streaks when you rest your foot there....im a marathon runner so im always in a pair of running shoes which are all black soled...so i was wondering is there any kind of cover you can get for that or has anyone done anything to keep it from scuffing up??

There aren't that many choices for foot rest. Only the Hamann's will completely cover the area nicely (my main reason for going with that choice. Otherwise I would have preferred ACS instead). I just received them and tried installing them over the weekend. (I'll get photos of them up within the next couple of days).

Gripes about the Hamann pedals though. Their installation is more difficult than the ACS ones. Especially for the brake pedal. They are mounted using screws only! Trying to get those into the metal brake pedal is pretty difficult given that I don't have proper tools. I ended going to the Lowe's and buying some nuts and bolts to secure them instead. Only problem is that I can't find matching ones to the original screws used on the gas pedal and footrest. I'll probably go to Home Depot to see if they have something better. Plus installing the screws for the gas pedal and the footrest takes more precise and attention to detail to get the holes right so that the screws are flush (unlike mine which I rushed the job. Hopefully I can fix it later on).

The feel of the Hamann are alright. It will be slippery if wet due to the lack of rubber. I was hoping that the anti-slip groove design would eliminate the problem. But lucky for me, I'm in CA and it doesn't rain that often. Plus I wear sneakers most of the time and have a towel to dry off my shoe in case it does rain.

The look is a bit cold. Seriously thinking of swapping them out for ACS set. Only issue is that the ACS doesn't cover the entire foot rest area and the curved lines of the footrest kinda throws things off for me. Not to mention that it's hard to completely cover the vertical grooves of the center of the foot rest.
