High Beam Assistant?
Can this be added on?...If you have HUD and Premium Package?
Anyone with specs or Operating procedures on this? Thank you kindly. |
If its not a Priority One option (I don't think so), then no, it cannot be added. Highbeam assistant is a forward facing sensor on the rearview mirror below the rain sensor. When the lighting conditions are dark enough and there are no cars ahead, the highbeams will come on automatically. Should a car approach or when high beams are not needed anymore, they will revert back to low-beam.

I remember that option being advertised in the 1950's on Cadillacs or some other luxury car. Back then I believe it was a big thing with a lense mounted on the top of the fender. P.S. I just did a web search and it appears auto dimming was introduced even earlier than I thought: "1939 Oldsmobile offers automatic headlight dimmer switch" |
auto dimming is not offered in the North America as a factory option as far as I know. Legal issues/ reuglations
