I don't doubt that the 14 year old paint is better -- that was still solvent-based paint. As for the current paint, check it for orange peel on the clear coat, and then compare to a new Ford or Chevy. I'm quite serious. BMW paint jobs almost always have much more orange peel that Ford or Chevy. |
it's a metal adhesive/ sealant that dampens noise and waterproof/ noise and vibration proofs the components. they are pasty chemicals. Mine looks similar as well. I don't mind them as long as they work

My complaint is with the paint job near and around the rear license plate. There are areas that barely have any paint coverage and is rough to the touch. Have not noticed anything about the edges.
