Help me my X stinks bad!!!!

My wife placed a milk carton in the trunk on top of the ice scraper. One of the cartons was spilled and a gallon of nice organic milk end on the floor mat.

Took it to the cleaners where the cleaned the carpet and deodorized it. It did nothing. The car is not bearable with the windows closed.

Please let me know of anything that can make the stink go away!!!!

Thanks

Try Zerorez.com. I don't know if they would do auto's only but they are quite expensive. I've used them to have the carpet's cleaned in the house and it works wonders. After they cleaned my carpets, I asked them if they can quickly run their machine on the carpet areas of the BMW. They did it for free. Amazing results, better than using Resolve or the common carpet cleaners they sell in Home Depot, grocery stores, etc.

I am no way affiliated with Zerorez. Just giving some advice on my experience with this company. Hope this helps you out

sell it. milk will never fully go away. you will always pick-up a hint and muscle memory will ruin the rest of your day. :dunno:

A buddy in college forgot a gallon of milk in his car and it was out in 100+ degrees the whole weekend. He opened his car Monday morning and almost fell over from the smell. For the last year and a half at college his car smelled even though he tried everything to get rid of the stench. First he tried air freshner but that only made it smell of sour milk and air freshner, etc.

Get a new floor mats and maybe the dealer can remove the carpet and pad(?) assuming that it soaked in there too and have it replaced.

:iagree: Replacing the elements that were affected should fix everything. Just like new. May be a little costly but the smell is in carpet, that's it. Remove and you're all good.

So what's the update? Any luck?

Unfortunately no luck. Had the trunk cleaned and sprayed with some agents but so far it has not worked. Actually the smell changes with time because now the cleaning material used are added to the smell mix.

Seems line replacing the carpets will be the only solution.
