Backup camera doesn't work at all..HELP
 

I went to gym tonight and when I was leaving. I hit a pillar in the parking plot. The backup camera didn't sounds at all. WTH!!!
I am leasing this x5. should I go to private or dealer to repair the bumper?

Please advise me.

it hangs sometime, even the lights in The car and sometime tha Nav hangs, turn off the car get out lock and open and start the car that should fix the hang.

Without saying you shouldn't rely on PDC/backup camera alone... I have to ask, you have the park distance control feature correct ? That is a separate option from the backup camera (even though you get both in the tech pkg). The PDC is the one that beeps. Also, did the camera display in the idrive at all?

PDC should work right away, but I have to admit, I tend to rely more and more as I use them and i did managed to scratch someone's clear-coat by backing too much. that red zone kicks in much too early i dunno.. Don't REly on them!
