:iagree: I have a 535xi and it wins in 535 vs E70 X5. The best solution will be X5 ///M if you can wait till 2009.

PAS will be family oriented crossover targeted more to women drivers.
X6 is high seating position car with sedan like sport handling, but will not solve your need for space.

If money is not an issue, get rid of the Vert, have your wife drive the 535 and get the E70. I know your wife loves the Vert but it's no 535. This way, you can still drive the 535 on weekends and who knows, your wife might even love the fully loaded 4.8 E70 and you get to drive the 535.

On a different note, I agree with the other posts. The gas mileage on the 4.8 is not any better and you loose a lot of space if you are used to the Yukon. Just something to consider also.

Go for the 535xi!

X5 4.8 does eat a lot of gas. Plus it can't come close to the fun you have with the 535.

+100

Anyone comparing the M3 to an X5 is :loco:

X5 is a good handling SUV, probably much better than any SUV out there, but compare it to even a lowly 3 or 1 series in handling?

x 6 only seats 4 people, he has 4 kids only one of them drives. still needs three seatbelts in the back.
I guess.

get a x5 you cant go wrong. I love mine emensly, well my wifes. I had a 535 loaner for ow weekend and it was a lto fo fun, reminded me of my 335 some.
however getting back in the x after that was not any less fun.
I bought a truck and my wife rather drive it, she is not into cars at all.
so I am going to get rid of the x for a convertible, otherwise I would keep it.
anyway go for it.

X6 is getting a rear bench seat option this fall to accommodate 5 people.

Another vote that the X5, while a nice handling SUV, is no competition for the 535. Seems like you need to decide if you really want 4 cars; if so, the X5 isn't going to get any better mileage than the Yukon, so you may be better off with another GM. They should be cheap now, and it would have a lot more room in it than the X5.

Thanks for all of the replies guys! I got out of the Yukon because I had an expensive lease. I found someone to assume it. I'm either going to replace the 535 with an X5 4.8 or purchase a used GM truck.

I'm not sure what is the right way to go. I'm going to test drive a 4.8 Sport tomorrow. I'll let you all know what my impressions are.
