#3 was taken at the CNE... very very late at night... to ensure no traffic.

Pretty good images from a 20D.

nynd 09-27-2008 10:20 PM

LOL - I left the EXIF data attached.. so one can see settings..

Pictures.. SURE feel free to use them...

rh71 09-27-2008 10:22 PM

very nice - I really need to pick up an SLR.

autoque 09-27-2008 11:04 PM

These pics look better than the ones BMW uses to promote their X5. Best shots of the X5 EVER. It's mesmerizing!

Did you wax your car recently? The surface sure is shiny and reflective.

Looks like downtown area to me. Can't really put a finger on the exact location but it does look like downtown Toronto.

Fantastic pic's...very,very nice!!!! What type of camera did you use? Thanks! PalBay

nynd 09-28-2008 12:29 AM

Yeap downtown T.O. and it was a 20D Canon. And yes - washed and waxed her probably 2 - 3 days prior to going out in this picture taking adventure!!

Your comments are going to swell my EGO, LOL!!!

AUU 555 09-28-2008 12:34 AM

I cant take my eyes on your pix !! lol

chilliwilli 09-28-2008 12:38 AM

Delicious...this is very similar to my ideal setup for the E70. I can only imagine the result of the X5 ///M. Any performance mods? (if not hope the bug takes it easy on ya) ... :D

PersonaNonGrata 09-28-2008 12:43 AM

Great looking pics. The aero kit makes such a huge difference in the look of the E70.

Good to see another Canon DSLR fan. There are quite a few of us here with 40D's.

noncom23 09-28-2008 10:38 AM

Is photog your biz? Nice pix!

nynd 09-28-2008 10:54 AM

Not my biz... just a hobby so far... LOL!

Ajogu 09-28-2008 01:03 PM

Bravo:2thumbs:

bigd00755 09-28-2008 04:08 PM

Best Pics I've seen of E70 so far, HONESTLY! BMW should contact you to photograph their cars. The E70 is an awesome looking car, pair it up with your photograhy skills and the car is untouchable by any other SUV out there. IMO!

dr.jay 09-28-2008 05:10 PM

Great Pics

rh71 09-28-2008 06:34 PM

would I be able to achieve similar pics with a Rebel XSi and the right lens? If so, which lens?

motordavid 09-28-2008 08:34 PM

Very well done pics, esp those night shots!
Tripod I assume...coulda used a touch more
depth of field and/or focus point, but I am
quibbling. Very nice stuff,imo.
GL,mD

trueX5er 09-28-2008 08:44 PM

great pics!!!

nynd 09-28-2008 10:51 PM

LOL - You can do it with the rebel.. depends on what your after. I think opinions will vary... usually fixed lenses like 50mm with large apeture will allow for nice portrait shots. The kit lenses (I think 18-55) leave little to be desired. Usually its good to opt up to a zoom if you want a multi purpose lens, sometimes fixed lenses add up in cost. There are also USM and VR (Nikon fans) which feature some image stabilization.. Again, depends on what your after.

Again, thanks to everyone for the comments.. good thing is most of us already drive these awesome machines.... I'm just trying to focus them in a different light!

autoque 09-29-2008 02:53 AM

You know what? It's funny. I'm literally addicted to these photos. I keep coming back and looking at them again and again. I'm going to take one of them to be my desktop background image!:D

ChesterX5 09-29-2008 09:40 AM

Great images, really some of the very best I've seen. Flame Surfacing at its best! :)

Michelle 09-29-2008 09:43 AM

Can you post them in higher resolution, please?

nynd 09-29-2008 09:50 AM

Hi Michelle,
I would but there is a 340K limit on file size isn't there?

Try uploading them to Photobucket using their 1MB file size. Then post the IMG code.

Meiac09 09-29-2008 10:15 AM

chonko 09-29-2008 10:33 AM

Awesome pictures, wish you could take some pics of my ride ;) Awesome looking ride you got there. Congrats

autoque 09-29-2008 06:05 PM

I've got an idea.

If you can take a picture of a car this good, then what about a person? Even an average person would look like a super-model in your photoshoot.:bustingup

Was having some fun... look in the headlight....LOL!

autoque 09-29-2008 11:39 PM

^And when you switch the headlights on, you can see the BMW enblem projected, like in the Batman movie when calling the batman.:D

rh71 09-30-2008 02:08 AM

^ if you really do that, make sure it's reversed. ;)

You motivated me enough to take pics of my ride:D The pictures are not as good as yours but then I don't have an SLR, took em with my ancient S50;)

cool photos

DawgBone 09-30-2008 03:39 PM

Geez, ya'll are about to make me dig into my savings for a decent still cam...(preferably a SLR)!ouch:

What kind of settings are you using for low light?

jeep 09-30-2008 04:07 PM

Thanks folks, I think [:stickpoke]"nynd" set the bar high ;) I was just using my Canon powershot S50, the attributes are saved with the pictures. I used the "P" mode for most shots, which automatically selects the Film Speed (50 in this case for most shots), shutter speed and focal length, I selected the ambient lighting, used a tripod and timer so that there is no shake. Not too bad for a powershot :D

Nice photos as well Jeep. How could they not be... after all, look at what we're photographing.!!! I'd say to all owners.. keep'em coming.. lets see all our rides!
