From the birdies: 0-60 will be in 4.3 to 4.7 range.

One thing I'm worried about the X5 ///M is that BMW will make its suspension a lot firmer for better handling and coping with higher speed.
IMO, in terms of comfort, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S with its air suspension will outshine the X5 ///M... |

Whilst it may have seemed a great idea at the time I find it surprising given the current price of fuel and the economic climate that BMW have bothered to make it. All I can think is that it was 'signed off' in better times and it is now too far on to scrap.
Having spoken to a local BMW Dealer Principal recently here in the UK almost all the X5 models sold recently (a reasonable number) the 3.0sd is the most popular with VERY few 4.8's being ordered. You just have to look at all the unsold M3's sitting about to see that the bottom has fallen out of both the M-sport and SUV market here in the UK. Perhaps there is a market for it but I can't see a huge take-up, especially not for at least the next 6 months. A different story in the Middle East where you can shove a stick into the sand and strike oil... ;) |
